Dream Companion (mydreamcompanion.com) is one of the older names in NSFW AI chat, with a big library of companions, "Dream Experiences" and live-style characters. It's also one of the harder ones to price from the outside, and one of the strictest on refunds. This review sets out what we could confirm from its own documents, what independent reviewers report, and where the two differ.
A real EU operator with a thin coin allowance and no refund safety net
Dream Companion is run by a named German company and lets you test chat for free. But Premium's 100 Dream Coins buy about 33 images a month, live prices are hidden behind the app, refunds are essentially unavailable, and its privacy policy lists a long roster of ad trackers. Fine for chat-first users on the yearly plan; weak value for media.
You mainly want NSFW text chat and roleplay with a large character library, and you'll pay yearly.
You want lots of images, video or voice, need a refund option, or want minimal ad tracking.
Provisional score, built from Dream Companion's Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and subscription page, plus independent reviews, all checked Oct 7, 2026. Live prices and hands-on testing are pending.
What Dream Companion is, and who runs it
Dream Companion lets adults create characters or chat with ones made by others, with AI-generated images, video, voice messages and voice calls on top.[1][2] Its homepage browse filters cover a wide range of kinks and roleplay categories, and it runs episodic "Dream Experiences."[3]
The terms say the site is operated by Miracle AI UG (haftungsbeschränkt), "a company registered in Germany with its main office at Grolmanstraße 40, 10623 Berlin." The terms are governed by German law, with disputes before courts in Berlin.[1] A UG is a German limited-liability company form with low minimum capital. The Terms of Use we read were last modified July 4, 2024; the privacy policy is far newer (September 29, 2026).[1][4]
How we reviewed Dream Companion
On October 7, 2026 we read Dream Companion's Terms of Use (which include its refund and cancellation policies), its Privacy Policy, and the public text of its homepage and subscription page. Live plan prices load only in the app, so we compared four independent reviews that recorded them. Every claim links to its source.
We haven't yet logged in to record checkout prices or paid for a plan. We'll update this review with dated screenshots rather than guess.
How much does Dream Companion cost?
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Dream Coins | Messages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | n/a | Task-based extras only | "Typically between 10 to 20" |
| Premium | $11.99 Reported | $69.99 ($5.84/mo) Reported | 100 a month | 6,000 or unlimited (sources differ) |
| Ultimate | $44.99 Reported | $299.88 ($24.99/mo) | 800 a month | Unlimited |
The yearly toggle is marketed as "70% off," according to several reviewers.[5][6] One, CompanionWise, reports the "monthly" anchors shown on the subscription page as $20 for Premium and $85 for Ultimate, and that the discount banner was live throughout the period it examined.[7] Another calculates the real yearly saving against the $11.99 monthly price as about 51%, not 70%.[5] Treat "70% off" as framing and compare the actual charge.
What Dream Coins buy
Dream Companion's subscription page states what each plan's coins cover:[2]
| Plan | Coins / month | Images | Voice calls | Videos |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | 100 | About 33 | 12 minutes | 5 |
| Ultimate | 800 | About 264 | 96 minutes | 40 |
The terms say each use "costs between 3 to 20 Dream Coins."[1] That squares with the page: roughly 3 coins an image and 20 a video. Coin packs reportedly start at $9.99 for 100 coins, about 10 cents a coin, falling to roughly 4 cents on a discounted 3,750-coin pack.[6][7] Reported One reviewer who paid for Premium in 2024 wrote that 94 of their 100 coins were gone by day 11.[6]
Premium's coins are thin for anyone who wants visuals. A month covers about five videos. Ultimate's 800 coins are more realistic for media, at several times the price.
Is Dream Companion free?
For a taste. The terms say free users "can create up 1 character and send a limited number of messages, typically between 10 to 20," after which "further interaction is restricted," and that extra credits can be earned by completing tasks.[1] The privacy policy notes you get "a free test of a few conversations" before being asked to register.[4]
Is Dream Companion safe and legit?
Legit: yes. A named German company operates it under German law, with published terms, a privacy policy, DMCA, complaints, refund, cancellation and underage policies.[1] We found no regulator or court calling it a scam.
Privacy: read before you share.
- AI training. The privacy policy says conversation data is used "for improving our AI models," and has a section titled "Use of Data for AI Improvement."[4]
- Encryption. It says AI content and conversations are "processed and stored securely using robust encryption protocols," without claiming end-to-end encryption.[4]
- Ad tracking. It lists Meta Pixel and CAPI, Google Ads Conversion Tracking, Google Analytics 4, TikTok Pixel and CAPI, Snapchat Pixel and CAPI, Reddit Pixel, Juicy Ads, TrafficJunky and Hotjar.[4] That's a long list for an adult service; consider a tracker-blocking browser.
- Age and ID checks. Some users may be asked to verify identity through Didit, which can process ID documents and face scans. Dream Companion says it doesn't store raw biometric data or ID images itself.[4]
- Deleting. Settings → Account → Delete Account. Data is kept "as long as necessary," including for legal and accounting requirements.[4]
Dream Companion refunds and how to cancel
How to cancel
- Log in at mydreamcompanion.com.
- Click Settings under your profile.
- Click Unsubscribe and follow the on-screen steps to confirm.[1]
Timing matters. The cancellation policy says requests made before the next billing cycle stop future charges, "while those received after the new billing period begins may result in charges for that cycle."[1] Cancel a few days early.
Refund policy
The refund policy is short: "Dream Companion does not offer refunds for paid subscriptions." Refunds "may be issued if there has been an error on our part or if a technical issue with the service arises," case by case, through support. Cancelling doesn't refund the unused part of a billing cycle. The policy says it doesn't override stricter local refund laws, which matters for EU consumers.[1]
What reviewers report
Independent reviews are mostly positive about the chat and character variety and mostly negative about coins:
- CompanionWise quotes AI Companion Guides: "The coin economy will drain you if you aren't careful," and notes reports of coin overages even on Ultimate.[7]
- The AI Girlfriends Guide scores it 8.2 out of 10 and praises one of the fullest feature lists it tracks, with pictures, video, voice messages and live calls.[8]
- An AI Partner Guides reviewer who paid for Premium and a week of Ultimate in 2024 describes downgrading from Ultimate before renewal.[6]
