People search "is OurDream AI safe," "is OurDream AI legit" and "ourdream.ai scam" hundreds of times a month in the US. Those are three different questions: whether the business is real, whether your data is protected, and whether you'll be billed fairly. We answer each from OurDream's own legal documents, read on October 7, 2026, and from public user reports, which we label as such.

Short answer

Legit: yes. A named US company, Dream Studio USA, Inc., runs it, with complete terms and policies, and ScamAdviser rates the site 100 ("very likely safe").

Safe for your data: with caveats. OurDream's homepage says chats use end-to-end encryption that "not even us" can read. Its privacy policy describes standard server-side encryption instead, and allows using your information to train its AI models. Treat chats as readable by the company.

Billing: strict. No refunds past 25% use, crypto is final, and some users report charges after cancelling.

Is OurDream AI legit? Who runs it

OurDream's terms name Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation at 1111B S Governors Ave STE 28684, Dover, DE 19904.[1] Its refund policy adds Dream Studio LLC and Tektopia Ltd as providers.[2] It publishes a full set of documents: terms and a privacy policy (both last modified August 26, 2026), a refund policy (March 9, 2026) and a help center with dozens of billing and coin articles.

ScamAdviser gives ourdream.ai a trust score of 100, "very likely safe." It also notes the domain was registered on November 19, 2024, the owner uses WHOIS privacy, and the registrar is one it associates with a high share of spam sites.[3] None of that is unusual for a young app in this category, and a Delaware address listed in the terms is more than many competitors offer.

The address is a registered-agent style suite in Dover, so don't expect a public office. Disputes go to binding individual arbitration with a class-action waiver under the terms.[1]

Is OurDream AI a scam?

We found no regulator, court or consumer agency calling OurDream AI a scam. The service delivers what it sells: chat, images, video and voice, with a published coin price list.[4] Where the "scam" searches likely come from is billing friction:

  • Charges after cancelling. On HushVerified, users report being billed after cancelling. OurDream replied there that this "is not expected behavior and may be the result of a billing issue." At least one user reports a successful €104 annual refund.[5]
  • Coins that go fast. HushVerified reviewers complain about the coin system, one calling it a "dark pattern."[5] Standard video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds against a 1,000-coin monthly allowance.[4]
  • An unfamiliar statement name. An independent reviewer reports charges appear as DREAMSTUDIO.CO, with no mention of the app.[6] Third-party report
  • A removed Trustpilot profile. On Oct 7, 2026, Trustpilot's ourdream.ai page said the profile had been removed because the business "goes against our guidelines."[7] Trustpilot doesn't say why, and Candy AI's profile shows the same notice. We don't speculate.

These are risks to plan around, not evidence of fraud. The fixes are simple: pay monthly first, screenshot your cancellation, and know the refund rules before you buy.

Are OurDream chats really end-to-end encrypted?

The homepage and the privacy policy disagree

OurDream's homepage FAQ answers "Are my AI roleplay chats private?" with: "Absolutely. Your chats are safe with end-to-end encryption… No one can read them, not even us."[8]

The privacy policy says something different: "All user and product data handled by Dream Studio is encrypted both at rest and in transit using industry-standard AES encryption and TLS 1.3 protocols," on a SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 certified hosting platform.[9] It doesn't mention end-to-end encryption anywhere.

Why it matters: encryption "at rest and in transit" protects data from outsiders on the network and on stolen disks, but the provider holds the keys and can read the data. True end-to-end encryption means only the endpoints can read messages. An AI chatbot also has to process your message on a server to reply, which is hard to square with "not even us." When a marketing FAQ and a legal policy disagree, the policy is the document that counts.

The policy also says, as most do, that "no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure," and that OurDream "cannot guarantee the security of your information."[9] We found no public report of an OurDream data breach as of Oct 7, 2026, but absence of a report isn't proof of anything.

The popular-character clause is unusual and easy to miss. OurDream's own advice is to avoid putting personal information into a character you make public.[9] Account deletion otherwise removes generations, unpublished characters, chats and unused coins, and takes 24 to 48 hours.[10]

Is it safe to pay OurDream?

Payments go through cards or crypto; PayPal isn't accepted.[11] The rules to know before paying:

  • No refunds once more than 25% of a purchase is used; monthly plans aren't refunded once the coins are used; annual plans "may be eligible for full or partial refund."[12]
  • Crypto is "final and non-refundable."[2]
  • Chargebacks filed without contacting support first "may result in suspension of your account."[2]
  • Annual means one charge of $119.88, not $9.99 a month.[13]

Is the OurDream AI APK safe?

There's no official one. OurDream's help center says it has no standalone mobile app and that you add ourdream.ai to your home screen from Safari or Chrome.[14] Any "OurDream AI APK," "free APK" or "mod APK" (the last gets around 140 US searches a month) is unofficial. Apps that promise unlocked premium features for an online service are a common way to spread malware, and OurDream's terms ban attempts to evade its technical protections.[1]

Content and age safeguards

  • 18+ only. Sign-up includes a statement that you're 18 or older, plus age verification where the law requires it.[1]
  • No photo uploads. OurDream says it blocks uploads of real photos for characters or generations to prevent deepfakes.[15]
  • A strict content filter. OurDream admits it's "a bit too sensitive right now and may flag safe content," and says it must stay strict to satisfy payment providers.[16]

How to use OurDream AI safely

  1. Use a separate email and don't put your real name, workplace or location in chats or characters.
  2. Assume chats can be read and used for training, whatever the homepage says.
  3. Pay by card, monthly first. Move to annual only once you know you'll stay.
  4. Screenshot your cancellation and watch for a DREAMSTUDIO charge afterwards.
  5. Never install an OurDream APK. Use the website.
